This course introduces students to Lee Strasberg’s Method and its influence on American acting for stage and screen. Students will explore relaxation, concentration, sense memory, emotional preparation, and truthful behavior under imaginary circumstances. The course focuses on helping actors connect personally to the material while staying disciplined, professional, and present with scene partners.
Students will learn how to prepare a role from the inside out, build emotional availability, avoid forced performance, and understand the difference between private preparation and public behavior. The goal is not to “act emotional,” but to create truthful life in the moment.
About the instructor
Creator, curator, and connector of knowledge in acting, filmmaking, and media production. I’m here to help build a creative space where artists can learn the craft, share real experience, develop professional standards, and connect with others who are serious about doing the work. Through The SceneWorks Network, my goal is to support actors, filmmakers, writers, crew, coaches, and studios as they learn, collaborate, create, and grow.
